From the founder…
Today I’m honored to share a post from This Wondrous Life.
I was asked how I find inspiration. It was a great exercise for me, and I encourage you to do the same.
Here’s what I learned about Inspiration
- Inspiration isn’t a lightning bolt. It’s a lot of work.
- When you feel uninspired do something else – something unrelated and physical, or something that takes a lot of brain power.
- When you feel inspired, write it down!!! When you lose your flow, it’s easier to come back if you’ve written it down!!
- Remember that inspiration often comes when you’re least expecting it. Let your mind ruminate for a while.
- Know that inspiration comes from a million different sources, and your Facebook feed likely isn’t one of them.
- When I feel inspired I find my flow.
- When inspiration is low I doodle, play legos with my daughter, or make pie crust by hand.
- Don’t fear inspiration. It’s often vulnerable, uncomfortable, and terrifying. Do it anyway.
- Three things that keep me inspired are getting outside, creating with my hands, and playing with my daughter.
I took the liberty of creating a modified exercise from the wonderful Danae of This Wondrous Life:
Fill in the blank with one or two sentences:
- INSPIRATION IS…
- INSPIRATION IS NOT…
- INSPIRATION LOOKS LIKE…
- INSPIRATION FEELS LIKE…
- INSPIRATION MEANS…
- WHEN YOU FEEL UNINSPIRED, DO…
- THE THING ABOUT INSPIRATION IS…
- INSPIRATION MAKES ME THINK…
- INSPIRATION SHOULD BE NEVER BE…
- THREE THINGS THAT KEEP ME INSPIRED ARE….
